WELL KNOWN team members are not asked or expected to work after hours, on holidays, or on weekends. They are left alone after they've clocked off, and texts, emails, and phone calls do not disturb their private time. The company upholds Bill 27, the Working for Workers Act 2021.

In addition to standard statutory holidays and paid vacations, team members receive additional paid days off throughout the year, such as Easter Monday and the Civic holiday. They also receive paid birthdays! We also have Flex Fridays, where the team can start enjoying the weekend early.

THE POSITION

A Social Media Manager needs to be self-driven to learn about what's changing on social networks and in the industry. When shifts or new trends occur, they must be able to react, respond accordingly, relay this information back to the rest of the team, and share their ideas about how to put their research into motion. This manager must work with multiple team members to effectively build strategies, organize campaign launches, such as contests and lead generator campaigns, and take direction from the Senior Account Director and Senior Social Media Manager. No one ever works in a silo at Well Known.

To successfully communicate a client's story and fulfill their business objectives, the SMM must be intimately familiar with the client's brand, products, and services. In addition, they must understand where a follower (customer) sits in the sales funnel and the motivators that drive their actions. And, of course, there is the day-to-day scheduling of content, posting, proofing, editing, engaging and creating some pretty awesome content on apps!

With the right person in place, they will find the client opportunities for growth. They will always remain hungry for more information and have a passion for growing the business of each client they manage, constantly pushing the envelope for better outcomes.

Most importantly, the SMM must take on the role with enthusiasm, ambition, and a palpable level of seriousness.

Day-to-day tasks:

  • Manage a total of ten to twelve marketing accounts at any given time

  • Attend marketing meetings with clients

  • Attend internal WK team meetings

  • Manage and reply to comments on all social platforms, including Google reviews

  • Proofread social media content prior to posting; proofs copy in artwork and copy in post

  • Bring forward any brand issues, overall messaging conflicts and discrepancies

  • Schedule and post content on all social media channels

  • Oversee all platforms, including Google, for profile updates, updates of business hours and operational changes

  • Engage daily on social media accounts by commenting, liking, following, sharing.

  • Create creative content using Instagram apps such as Linktree, InShot, Mojo

  • Utilize scheduling platforms such as Hopper HQ and Basecamp

  • Update and maintain account profiles, bio and about sections

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in the field of social media (or an extensive background in the field)

Minimum of two years of social media management experience for commercial accounts or robust capabilities of managing accounts in general
